At just fifteen, Kyle Drakard emerged as a rising star, gaining recognition as a session musician for renowned local artists like
Mro. Paul Abela. His remarkable abilities secured him a coveted position as the lead guitarist in major productions like ‘Gensna,’ garnering widespread acclaim within the vibrant Maltese music community.

At seventeen, Kyle Drakard made a significant impact by founding the groundbreaking Maltese Punk Jazz ensemble, ‘The Ranch.’ Their debut album, ‘Cuckoo Island,’ stands as a testament to their innovative approach. Following his departure from ‘The Ranch,’ Kyle’s musical journey evolved with the inception of ‘PlaKard,’ a Progressive Jazz Rock outfit. Surprising audiences by taking up the drums, Kyle and his band-mates created waves with their album ‘Jump The Fence,’ resonating not only in Malta but also during their successful tour across Portugal and Spain.

In addition to his stage presence, Kyle Drakard is a devoted music educator, investing over six years in nurturing aspiring talents. His commitment is to empower students to discover their artistic potential, facilitating not only musical development but also personal growth

Teaming up with the acclaimed Maltese group Tribali, Kyle Drakard demonstrated his versatility by showcasing his talents on guitars, sitar, percussion, and vocals. The band’s global footprint includes captivating performances at prestigious events like the Byron Bay Bluesfest in Australia and the iconic Glastonbury Festival in England. Presently, Kyle’s substantial contributions are shaping Tribali’s highly anticipated fifth album.

In 2022, Kyle Drakard ventured to London, overcoming obstacles to seize opportunities in jam sessions throughout the city. Notably, he collaborated in a jam session alongside the globally renowned bassist Tom Driessler and graced the stage at the prestigious ‘We Out Here Festival‘ in Cambridge as part of Cassius Cobbson’s Band. This journey epitomized Kyle’s exceptional talent, unwavering determination, and a sequence of fortuitous encounters with fellow gifted musicians.

The highlight of Kyle Drakard’s career in 2023 was his captivating performance on the esteemed stage of the ‘Love Supreme Jazz Festival‘, where he shared the spotlight with revered musicians he had long admired since his early twenties. Furthermore, he unveiled his solo project, ‘KYLO,’ with a remarkable debut at the ‘Notting Hill Arts Club‘.

In 2024 was the beginning of work on his debut album, a deeply personal project in which he composed every piece and performed all instruments himself. The album brings together acclaimed horn players from the London jazz scene, Grammy-nominated artist Varijashree Venugopal, and some of Malta’s finest musicians, uniting international collaboration with his Maltese roots.

The highlight of KYL0’s career in 2025 was the launch of his debut album on 7 November in Malta. Marking one of the biggest milestones of his career, the release became a three-day celebration, beginning with a vinyl listening party, followed by a masterclass alongside the album’s London horn players and Grammy-nominated artist Varijashree Venugopal, and culminating in a sold-out launch concert. The event also brought together the international artists featured on the album, celebrating the collaborations that shaped the project in his hometown malta.

In 2026 was the continued expansion of KYL0 World, introducing audiences to immersive concert experiences. Featuring the debut performance of the album with an all-Maltese ensemble, the music was presented through an intimate 360° headphone setup, offering listeners a unique live experience. The event also featured a specially created comedy opening in collaboration with Max from Bajd u Bejken, further expanding the artistic vision of KYL0 World.
